Our clients want us to help them with important decisions in an often uncertain business environment. To deliver for our client, we work hard to understand them, the nature of the challenge, and the issues around it. Our first priority is to understand fully the needs and wants of the client.
Our role is to determine successful outcomes, consider options, agree a plan and then help implement that plan. We need to fully grasp the major benefits, and the major risks. We need to learn what pitfalls are believed to exist, and point out those that may have been missed. We help in evaluating the options, managing the risks, and hence making good decisions.
Every client is different and deserves to be treated as an individual, so we do not proffer 'one size fits all' solutions. Instead we work out specific programmes that are tailored to the precise needs. We keep an eye on the big picture, whilst paying attention to the small details that also matter.
Our work is commonly delivered in written form, supported by economic analyses where appropriate, and normally face-to-face briefings and presentations. We provide formal and informal support throughout. We are prepared to test opportunities for clients on a 'no-names' basis with people that we often know well.
Our team is focussed and we are sometimes asked to manage programmes that require skills that we do not possess. A prime example of this is a due diligence process where legal, accounting, tax, and perhaps specialist niche expertise is required. We undertake this type of remit by drawing upon highly qualified people and organisations that we have worked with and got to know over the years. We are well known and trusted, and specialist teams of this nature can be drawn together quickly, discretely, and with a minimum of fuss. We do not pretend to be bigger than we are, but our network is extensive and hugely experienced.
We do not normally work to a day rate. We prefer to become part of a team by investing time and effort in understanding the client and the issues thoroughly. We are normally paid by a retainer over the course of the project. We are prepared, particularly with regular clients, to provide low up-front rates and to take risk in return for rewards when our client is successful. We like to be thoroughly aligned with our client, such that we both know what 'successful' means.
Our reputation has been hard won over many years, and we protect it jealously by providing an unusual blend of insight, commitment and hard work to each and every client.
