Bruce Woodman

Managing Director

After working for a large American company throughout Europe, the Managing Director co-founded  PEP in 1989.  He now brings over 25 years of experience in assessing, developing, financing, constructing and operating low carbon technologies and projects.  During this time he has helped create, build, and exit companies on both sides of the Atlantic.

He has served on the boards of UK, American and Canadian companies and has worked in joint ventures with partners ranging from sole traders, private equity firms (such as Terra Firma), Japanese Trading Houses, utilities (Florida and Ireland’s ESB) and financial institutions.  As director of its Canadian developer subsidiary, he helped a London Stock Exchange fund to scale the business for a successful exit to Engie.   He helped IKEA to establish its strategy to go 100% renewable and has worked alongside them internationally for over a decade to achieve their goal.

He has been a director of a number of companies belonging to publicly quoted funds, working to London Stock Exchange rules.  He is also a director of the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority approved subsidiary of PEP, responsible for ensuring appropriate compliance processes are established and followed.  He currently oversees asset management and financial reporting for a portfolio of 20 projects for Aviva Investors.

He has built an extensive network of relationships in the low carbon and hydrogen industries, specifically in hydrogen’s production from low carbon sources.  His international experience of establishing and managing multi-faceted teams with diverse cultures and skills is well suited to this fresh growth industry.
